Pendleton County Board of Education is committed to providing comprehensive educational opportunities to all of its students. The school facilities include 3 elementary schools, located in each of the 3 valleys that form the geographical divisions of the county, and a centrally located middle school/high school complex that is wired with state-of-the-art telecommunications capabilities that make it possible to have video conferences, distance learning and the opportunity for students to take advanced courses previous available only in large metropolitan school districts. Vocational agriculture classes are available to interested students. The student enrollment (grades 7 - 12) is 532, with a staffing of 45 faculty members.

The South Branch Vocational and Technical Center  in Petersburg trains many Pendleton County students with the skills to become capable and productive workers. County students enrolled at the center take their academic classes at Pendleton County High School and travel to Petersburg for their vocational and technical training.

Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College (EWVC&TC) schedules day and evening classes at the Pendleton County Middle/High School, enabling students to locally pursue associate degree programs in many fields and become part of a better-educated and trained workforce.
